Chere Gregory, MD, named senior vice president; New role will focus on comprehensive women’s healthcare

December 4, 2013 – Novant Health is pleased to announce that Chere Gregory, MD, has been named senior vice president for physician services with a focus on comprehensive women’s healthcare. In this new role, Dr. Gregory will partner with leaders across Novant Health, from primary care to specialty care, including community wellness and prevention, to meet the unique, gender-specific needs or women.

“Our goal at Novant Health is to provide authentic and personalized care for women,” said John Phipps, MD, president, Novant Health physician clinics. “We’ve learned that to effectively treat women, you have to understand gender-specific health differences, and we want to create a place where women are treated for their overall health. Dr. Gregory’s experience and success in creating innovative ways to deliver care and to educate healthcare professionals about these differences will help us achieve that.”

Dr. Gregory joined Novant Health in 2003, most recently serving as medical director of neurosciences at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. Three years ago, she merged her passion for medicine with her specific interest in women’s health and was instrumental in creating the Maya Angelou Women’s Health and Wellness Center which opened in June 2012.

Dr. Gregory earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and a Master in Health Finance and Management from The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed her medical degree at the University of Maryland, her neurology residency at Case Western Reserve University and a fellowship in neurocritical care at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
