Senior Software Engineer


This position is responsible for a variety of intermediate to advanced engineering assignments. Employee understands and applies engineering concepts, understands development and verification concepts, and follows established policies and procedures to complete work assignments.  The majority of the work for this position will be integrated with our customer’s teams and performed onsite at our customer’s offices near Madison, WI.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participation in customer planning, backlog refinement, and daily meetings in a scrum development framework
  • Software development in C/C++in a Solaris 10 or Solaris 11 environment
  • Software verification activities including test procedure development, manual testing, and automated test script development and maintenance in Python
  • Travel for the position may be required and will be supported as determined necessary
  • Participation in process improvement
  • Continuous improvement of the quality of work
  • Provide customer support and assistance
  • Support various amounts of overtime depending on project needs

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Seven years of software development experience in C/C++
  • Five years of script development experience in a modern scripting language such as Python
  • Five years of software development experience in a UNIX or Linux environment
  • Five years of software development experience in the medical industry
  • Two years of experience working in a scrum software development environment
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to follow software engineering processes

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Two years of experience working in a Solaris 10 or Solaris 11 environment
  • Five years of experience designing and maintaining software algorithms
  • Qt development experience
  • DO-178B/C Experience
  • Solid understanding of software verification under DO-178B/C
  • Experience with the development and formal verification of avionics software systems
  • Ability to decompose software requirements from system requirements
  • Ability to perform analysis of requirements, design, development, verification, and documentation of software applications
  • Knowledge of static analysis and structural coverage analysis tools
  • Knowledge of the SEI CMMI processes and procedures
